Technology and Media
Hundred Hills offers a safe haven for families who have decided to protect their child's earliest years from exposure to media. A priority for the founding of the school was to provide a learning environment that is free of the distractions of media on children. Our administration and faculty place a very high level of importance on helping families achieve the goal of zero media exposure for young children.
When screen-time doesn't dominate family life, and your child isn't centered around when and what they will watch, they explore, play, imagine, and create, and self-regulation and resiliency are strengthened.
We see the cultural shift away from screens happening in real time and believe that if we can work together as a community of parents and faculty with the best intentions for the children, guiding our decisions, it is within our power to establish a culture within the school that supports families making the decision to eliminate media exposure in the home.
Therefore, we ask parents to adhere to this policy by providing a media and screen-free environment in the home as well as outside of the home for their children.
